The amount allocated for treatment has not changed for 13 years
Gulkan Moldobekova, a deputy, expressed concern about insufficient funding for medications for patients in rehabilitation centers and social institutions. She noted that since 2014, the amount of this norm has remained unchanged at 12.5 soms per day.
Nazgul Cholumova, head of the Department for Preparing Decisions Regarding Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly at the Ministry of Social Development, confirmed that this same level of funding is established for all psychiatric institutions and nursing homes. She clarified that supportive therapy is provided in such institutions, rather than intensive treatment.
Furthermore, Cholumova added that a draft resolution is currently being prepared, which proposes to increase the allocated amount for medications to 25 soms per day for the aforementioned categories of patients.
