
Only data on newly registered cases up to 2024 were presented in parliament.
At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on labor, health, women's affairs, and social issues, the First Deputy Minister of Health Aibek Matkerimov presented statistics limited to data up to 2024.
According to him, the official figures for newly identified cases are as follows:
- Down syndrome:
135 cases in 2022,
135 in 2023,
161 in 2024; - Autism:
99 cases in 2022,
90 in 2023,
82 in 2024; - Childhood cerebral palsy (Cerebral Palsy):
753 cases in 2022,
586 in 2023,
527 in 2024.
Deputy Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva noted that the figures presented significantly differ from the data available in other official sources. She emphasized the importance of creating a unified central electronic database to ensure accurate accounting of children with cerebral palsy, autism, and Down syndrome in the country.
