The most expensive Pokémon card in history.
The card in question is known as the Pikachu Illustrator and was one of only 39 copies released in 1998 for a Pokémon illustration contest.
The Goldin auction, where Logan offered the card, lasted 42 days and concluded on February 16. In the final days of bidding, the price fluctuated around $6.882 million, but soon after, new bids appeared, resulting in the final amount rising to $16.492 million, including fees.
“This is insane,” commented Logan Paul as the auction came to an end and confetti fell in the hall. Following this, Sara Cason from Guinness World Records took the stage to confirm that this is the most expensive collectible card ever sold at auction.

The auction was won by venture investor A.J. Scaramucci, son of Anthony Scaramucci, who previously served as the White House Communications Director. A.J. plans to undertake a "planetary treasure hunt" and intends to "collect the uncollectible." He has already set his sights on acquiring a fossilized Tyrannosaurus skeleton and the Declaration of Independence, and this is just the beginning of his collection.
