In the department, it was noted that according to regulatory documents, students are entitled to 30 calendar days of rest throughout the year. Previously, these days were distributed over three periods: autumn (approximately 9 days), winter (12 days), and spring (9 days), not including public holidays.
According to the new Labor Code, which came into effect on January 1, 2026, two extended non-working holiday periods were introduced: in January (from the 1st to the 6th) and in May (from the 1st to the 8th). In addition, January 7, May 5, and May 9 became official public holidays. If January 10-11 or May 10-11 coincide with weekends, the winter and May holidays may last up to 12 calendar days.
These changes also affect educational institutions. Thus, in addition to the traditional autumn, winter, and spring holidays, students will also have a break during the May holidays, which will last from May 1 to May 10.
Taking the above into account, the following schedule was approved:
- autumn holidays - from November 5 to November 9, 2025 (five calendar days including weekends);
- spring holidays - from March 6 to March 8 (three calendar days including weekends).
