The "South Korea - Central Asia" summit, which will be the first of its kind, is scheduled for September 16-17, 2026. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Park Jin, during a preparatory meeting in Seoul, noting that this event lays the groundwork for a long-term strategic partnership.

Leaders from five Central Asian countries are expected to participate in the meeting: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.

The main goal of the summit is to expand diplomatic relations and strengthen ties between Seoul and the mentioned countries. Participants will pay special attention to issues of supply chain diversification and economic security, which are crucial in the current geopolitical situation.

The new format of cooperation implies a shift from individual projects to systematic multilateral interaction covering areas such as energy, technology, and logistics.
