On February 4 and 5 in Bishkek, a seminar was held on the topic "Strengthening Defense Cooperation between India and the Kyrgyz Republic."

This event was organized with the support of the Embassy of India in Bishkek, the Department of Defense Production of the Ministry of Defense of India, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The seminar gathered more than 75 participants. About 40 representatives from Kyrgyzstan attended — employees from the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Border Service, the State Penitentiary Service, and representatives from five defense enterprises. The Indian delegation consisted of 35 participants, including representatives from the embassy, FICCI, and 15 defense companies.

On the first day, participants were introduced to presentations and an exhibition of products, while the second day featured B2B meetings.

The Indian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Birender Singh Yadav, emphasized in his speech that the defense sector of India has undergone significant changes under the concept of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Atmanirbhar Bharat" ("Self-Reliant India"), which has facilitated the development of domestic production, innovation, and exports. He also noted that Indian defense products have gained recognition in international markets.

According to the ambassador, Kyrgyzstan, due to its strategic location and interest in technologies, is a promising partner, and India is ready to be a reliable ally in the fields of defense and technology. He called for the active development of joint projects and enterprises in advanced technologies.

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Kyrgyzstan, Azizbek Baibalaev, was the guest of honor at the seminar. In his speech, he highlighted the growing volumes of military and military-technical cooperation between the two countries and expressed hope that the seminar would serve as a foundation for further interaction in the defense industry.

It is noted that the seminar serves as a platform for deepening cooperation within the framework of strategic partnership, bringing together representatives of government structures, defense companies, and experts, which opens up opportunities for the implementation of joint projects in the future.
