
132 people acquired the status of kyrylmán in Kyrgyzstan in January 2026, as reported by the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration.
Ethnic Kyrgyz returning to their historical homeland have the opportunity to take advantage of a simplified procedure for obtaining citizenship and various social guarantees. The status of "kyrylmán" is practically equivalent to the rights of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.
In 2025, this status was granted to 935 people. Most ethnic Kyrgyz arrived from the following countries:
- Tajikistan — 837;
- Uzbekistan — 66;
- China — 12;
- Afghanistan — 10;
- Russia — 9.
A special commission reviews each application within two months.
Individuals who have received the status of kyrylmán have the right to employment, education, medical assistance, as well as pensions and various benefits. Currently, state guarantees cover hundreds of people:
The kyrylmán certificate is valid for three years. During this period, its holder is required to apply for citizenship of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Ministry emphasizes: if you encounter discrimination or improper treatment by staff of territorial units, please report it immediately. The agency has opened a hotline at the toll-free number 1966.
