Every year, more and more schoolchildren (aged 7 to 17) begin to observe the fast of Orozо. However, the Republican Center for Health Promotion strongly warns against this practice.

Doctors highlight several reasons why such a tradition may negatively affect children's health, based on scientific research.

Impact on Children's Health
School age is a critically important period for physical and psychological growth. Observing the fast may disrupt the usual eating and sleeping patterns, which will negatively affect the overall health of children.

Academic Performance at Risk
Lack of food and sleep can lead to decreased concentration and attention, which, in turn, will reflect on academic results and performance in school.

Stress and Nervousness
A deficiency of essential nutrients and sleep can cause stress in a child, manifesting as irritability and a deterioration of emotional well-being.

Immune System at Risk
Poor nutrition and lack of sleep can weaken the immune system, increasing the risk of illnesses and infections in children.

Physical Health at Risk
Prolonged periods without food and water can pose a health risk, especially if the child is left unsupervised by adults.

The Republican Center for Health Promotion urges parents to remember the importance of caring for their children's health: "Regular meals, sufficient sleep, and support in daily life are our priorities," specialists emphasize.

It is worth noting that in 2026, the month of Ramadan (Orozo ayı) began today.
