The U.S. authorities announced the introduction of visa restrictions for citizens of Uzbekistan suspected of facilitating illegal migration. This information was published in a statement by the State Department.

According to this statement, the restrictions concern "high-profile executives of two companies located in Uzbekistan that are involved in visa processing." American officials claim that these firms "deliberately offered tourist services aimed at foreigners intending to migrate illegally to the U.S."

The statement did not specify the names of the companies or the names of the Uzbek citizens to whom these restrictions apply.

During the investigation, it was revealed that these individuals organized the logistics of trips, including the movement of minors. The routes followed by the migrants passed through air and land hubs to transit points in Central America, where many of them were detained while attempting to cross the border.

In Washington, emphasis was placed on their determination to curb the activities of networks profiting from illegal migration, viewing this as a threat to national security and a violation of immigration laws.

Additionally, the American side expressed gratitude to the government of Uzbekistan for its active cooperation in combating human trafficking.
