At a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on industrial policy, transport, the fuel and energy complex, architecture, and construction on February 24, Energy Minister Talaybek Ibraev announced upcoming changes to electricity tariffs in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the minister, the filling level of the Toktogul Reservoir for the current heating season is 94%, which is equivalent to 9.4 billion cubic meters of water, exceeding last year's figures.

Ibraev added that by April 1, it is planned to finish with 6.8 billion cubic meters. In 2025, electricity losses will amount to 10.6%, while in 2022 this figure was 12.1%.

According to the minister, there are 1.6 million registered subscribers in the country, of which 923.1 thousand have automated electricity metering systems installed.

“A new increase in the electricity tariff by 27 tyiyn is expected from May 1. In 2027, it will rise by 33 tyiyn, in 2028 by 39 tyiyn, in 2029 by 47 tyiyn, and in 2030 by 57 tyiyn. As a result, by 2030, the tariff will correspond to the cost price,” the minister noted.
