He calls on the Ministry of Education and the Cabinet to reconsider the requirements for school uniforms.
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev raised the issue of uncomfortable school uniforms worn by children in Kyrgyzstan.
According to Bekeshev, the uniform looks decent, but it is extremely uncomfortable to wear.
“I receive numerous complaints from students in the Issyk-Kul, Osh, and Batken regions. They report that the uniform is uncomfortable both in winter and in summer,” he said.
In this regard, the deputy appealed to the Ministry of Education and the Cabinet of Ministers, asking them to ease the requirements for school clothing, suggesting that students be allowed to wear t-shirts and jeans.
“Why must girls wear skirts? Who came up with this? This is a legacy of the Soviet era. At the same time, in China, children attend school in sportswear, as studies show that such clothing is more beneficial for health. I am not suggesting switching to sports uniforms, but at least let’s allow children to dress in a smart casual style,” he concluded.
