A deputy expressed concern about the conditions for former citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Mahabat Mavlyanova noted that a new rule regarding the stay of foreign citizens in the Kyrgyz Republic was approved in 2023.
According to this resolution, foreigners are allowed to stay in the country for only one month. After this period, they must leave the country and can only return after two months.
According to Mavlyanova, such conditions create serious difficulties for those who were previously citizens of Kyrgyzstan and later acquired citizenship of other countries.
She emphasizes that many of these people still have relatives living in Kyrgyzstan, and the rule of "one month in the country and two months outside" leads to significant inconveniences. For example, this may be related to the illness of parents or other emergency situations when individuals cannot return home due to the established time limit.
In light of the above, the deputy proposed to amend the existing regulations so that former citizens of Kyrgyzstan could travel freely and return without such restrictions.
