In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, the cutting down of at least 800 old trees is planned for this year. This was reported by the chief agronomist of "Bishkekzelenkhoz," Zhanibek Jumaliev, on the air of Radio Sputnik Kyrgyzstan.

According to him, it is planned to remove between 800 and 1000 old trees by 2026.

Jumaliev noted that mainly poplars and elm trees will be cut down.

“Old trees will be removed from 50 streets, and in their place, it is planned to plant 17,000 new ones. The city hall is purchasing 50,000 seedlings, which will be adapted to local climatic conditions in nurseries and planted in 2027,” he added.
