The ministry emphasized that Kyrgyz art has suffered a tremendous loss. Toktogonov was not only an outstanding master but also an innovator, whose creations became an integral part of the cultural heritage of the country.
Eshbolot Toktogonov was born in 1942 in the village of Soviet, located in the Kemin district. After graduating from the Frunze Art School in 1962, he completed his studies at the Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry in 1971.
From 1971 to 1996, Toktogonov served as the chief artist at the Frunze Glass Factory and worked as a designer at the Art Fund. He became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR in 1980.
Eshbolot Toktogonov's works were known far beyond the borders of Kyrgyzstan, having been exhibited at international exhibitions and ceramics competitions in countries such as Italy (Faenza), France (Vallauris), and Germany.
In 2023, he held a solo exhibition titled "The Power of Spirit," where he shared his experience of hand-forming ceramics and showcased his works.
The Ministry of Culture and the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiev expressed their sincere condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and students of Eshbolot Toktogonov.
