Among the attendees were the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Askarala Madaminov, as well as representatives from the cultural sector and relatives of the deceased.
Makken Sydykbaev (June 15, 1937 — July 3, 2023) was the first professional theater artist in Kyrgyzstan. He completed his studies at the S. A. Chuykov Art School in 1958 and at the V. I. Surikov Art Institute in 1964.
In 2004, Makken Sydykbaev was awarded the title of People's Artist of Kyrgyzstan, and in 1992, he received the title of Honored Worker of Culture. He was also a laureate of the international award named after A. Maldybaev and the award named after G. Aitieva.
Sydykbaev began his artistic career in 1964, working as a decorator at the Russian Drama Theater. In 1969, he became an artist at the Kyrgyz Drama Theater, and from 1972 to 1975, he served as the chief artist at the National Opera and Ballet Theater. He then continued his career at the Artistic Decoration Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic from 1975, and from 1979, he returned as the chief artist at the Academic Drama Theater, going back to work at the National Opera and Ballet Theater in 1985.
Sydykbaev designed numerous performances, including: "Kyzyl zholuk zhalzhalym" (based on the work of Ch. Aitmatov), "Sisters" (A. P. Chekhov), "Manas's Son Semetey," "Aiköl Manas," "Seitek" (Zh. Sadykov), "Ak boz at" (Sh. Sadybakassov), "Tört adam" (M. Baizhiyev), "Altyn kyzy" (V. A. Vlasov), "Carmen" (Zh. Vize), "Kurmanbek" (N. Davlesov), "Othello" (J. Verdi), and many others.
In addition to performances, he also created a number of paintings, including "In the Yard of the Factory," "After the Rain," "Autumn," as well as portraits of A. Maldybaev and other significant works.
