The V International Opera Art Festival in Bishkek will be held in honor of Bolot Mingzhylkiyev's 85th anniversary.

From December 13 to 14, the A. Maldybaev National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet will host the V International Festival of Opera Art, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the outstanding opera singer and professor Bolot Minzhilkiyev. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture.

This event will be dedicated to the memory of Bolot Minzhilkiyev — a master of art who became known for his unique timbre, wide vocal range, and high culture of performance. His talent allowed him to perform on the most prestigious opera stages in the world.

Among the many characters he created, notable roles include Konurbay in "Manas," the Miller in "Rusalka," Boris Godunov in "Boris Godunov," Peter the Great in "Peter the Great," Mephistopheles in the eponymous opera, Khovansky in "Khovanshchina," Monterone in "Rigoletto," as well as Philip II in "Don Carlos," Escamillo in "Carmen," Ivan the Terrible in "The Pskov Woman," Kutuzov in "War and Peace," and the Varangian guest in "Sadko."

The festival will provide an opportunity for the audience to enjoy performances by outstanding artists, including Tural Agasiev — People's Artist of Azerbaijan, Saifullo Yusupov — People's Artist of Tajikistan, Kirill Borchaninov — People's Artist of Uzbekistan, international competition laureate Tair Taji from Kazakhstan, Pavel Yankovsky from Russia, and Tunkay Kurtoglu from Turkey.

Performers from the Kyrgyz opera school will also take part, delighting the audience with their talents.
