A concert was held in Bishkek dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the famous cultural figure, People's Artist of the Kyrgyz SSR, and laureate of the Toktogul State Prize — Jumamudin Sheraliev, who is also known as a composer, poet, and journalist.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture, among the participants of the event were State Secretary Marat Imankulov, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy Askarala Madaminov, as well as public figures, representatives of the cultural sphere, and close associates of Sheraliev.

During the concert, the Deputy Minister of Culture presented a badge and the title of "Best Cultural Worker" to foreign performers.

Jumamudin Sheraliev (September 3, 1915 — March 15, 1994) is considered one of the founders of Kyrgyz music. His homeland is the village of Tuyuk-Bogosh (today known as May 1 in the At-Bashinsky district of Naryn region). From an early age, he showed an interest in music, and his father, noticing this, made him a simple children's komuz, on which the boy quickly learned to play. At the age of 13, he wrote his first song titled "Suygon sharga." At 16, he began his career as an artist at the district radio station and worked in various organizations, including Rayzemotdel and the At-Bashinsky District Executive Committee. In 1936, he moved to Frunze, where he became a member of the newly formed orchestra of folk instruments of the Kyrgyz State Philharmonic.

At the first republican festival of folk creativity, his performance of the song "Sozulma" brought him recognition. Some of his works were recorded by the famous folklorist A. Zataevich. At the philharmonic, under the direction of conductors P. Shubin and Sh. Orozov, he mastered the basics of music theory, played the komuz-alto, and performed as a singer. During this time, he also took vocal lessons from Moscow teacher T. Romanova, who worked in Kyrgyzstan.

The 1930s were particularly productive for Sheraliev in terms of songwriting. Since 1948, he served as a music editor and soloist for Kyrgyz Radio. From the late 1950s, he worked as the head of the music department of the Naryn Musical Drama Theater named after M. Ryskulov, where he created music for performances.
