
The V International Festival of Opera Art will take place on December 13 and 14 at the A. Maldybaev Kyrgyz National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, dedicated to the outstanding People's Artist of the USSR, Professor Bulat Minzhilkiyev.
According to the theatre, the festival is organized in honor of the 85th anniversary of Minzhilkiyev's birth.
His career is marked by numerous awards and titles, and his voice, possessing rare beauty and expressiveness, has been compared to a finely tuned musical instrument. Colleagues note his breadth, plasticity, and noble masculinity.
Since 1989, Minzhilkiyev held the position of leading soloist at the Mariinsky Theatre. Although it is difficult to impress with a good voice in Russia, the Kyrgyz Orpheus managed to win the hearts of the St. Petersburg audience, raising hopes that his return to his homeland would be temporary. However, he remained there forever.The festival in Bishkek will gather stars from the world opera scene. The gala concert will feature performances by the Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Tural Agasiev, the Honored Artist of Tajikistan Saifullo Yusupov, the Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Kirill Borchaninov, as well as international competition winners Tair Tazhi from Kazakhstan, Pavel Yankovsky from Russia, and Tunkai Kurtoglu from Turkey.
Audiences will also enjoy performances by the best voices of Kyrgyz opera, including People's Artists Asel Bekbaeva and Bakyt Ybykeev, as well as Honored Artists Aizirek Momunova, Zairu Raimbekov, Aibek Saralaev, and soloists Oksana Shutova, Ermek Maraimov, and Tair Beysheev.
At the conductor's podium will be People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Jumakadir Kanimetov, Zakhar Butenko, and Semetey Sultanov.
Additionally, on December 14, a concert featuring the soloists of the Kyrgyz National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after A. Maldybaev will take place in the Malachite Hall, where works from foreign, Russian, and national classics will be performed.
