In Bishkek, a personal exhibition of Eldar Aitmatov titled 'Trace of Memory' will take place
On March 6, 2026, the opening of a personal exhibition by artist Eldar Aitmatov titled "Trace of Memory" will take place at the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts. This was announced by the event organizers in an interview with 24.kg.

The exhibition emphasizes how memory leaves traces in art, presenting emotional imprints preserved in painting. Within the framework of the "Trace of Memory" exhibition, the artist seeks to capture what remains after feelings, losses, and presence, where each work becomes a metaphysical reflection of the author himself.

Eldar Aitmatov, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, creates paintings that organically combine elements of European artistic tradition with his own deep meditative reflections.

His artistic thinking has been influenced by both domestic masters, such as Theodor Gertsen and Ibrahim Bakirov, and foreign artists, including Oleg Vukolov, Toghrul Narimanbekov, and Harro Erhart.

The exhibition will showcase both Eldar's early works created immediately after completing his studies and his latest pieces that reflect his creative journey and inner evolution.

The son of the famous writer Chinghiz Aitmatov, Eldar chooses the language of abstract painting to communicate with history and cultural heritage, where meanings are conveyed not through words, but through color, rhythm, and texture of paints on canvas.

Eldar Aitmatov was born on December 1, 1979, and completed his studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, where he worked in the graphic workshop of Professor Lucien Massar. Since 1999, he has actively participated in international exhibitions and art projects in Europe and Asia. His works are in the collections of the Sokka Gakkai World Museum (Kyoto, Japan), the Museum of Modern Art (Luxembourg), and the Ministry of Education and Culture of Luxembourg. Since 2008, Eldar Aitmatov has held the position of president of the International Chinghiz Aitmatov Foundation.

The exhibition will run until April 19.
