
The Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Science, Education, Innovative Development, Information Technologies, Culture, Sports, and Affairs has reviewed a draft law concerning amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Television and Radio Broadcasting." This project was approved in the first reading.
The initiator was the Cabinet of Ministers. Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev explained that the aim of this draft law is to align its provisions with the updated version of the Digital Code and the Law "On Mass Media," which will come into effect on August 6, 2025. In particular, it is planned to replace the mention of the Law "On Electric and Postal Communications" with the "Digital Code."
During the discussion, deputies, including Seyidbek Atambaev, Gulsharkan Kultaeva, and Saltanat Amanova, expressed a number of remarks regarding this draft law. The main focus was on issues of reliability, objectivity, and the quality of the information provided.
Additionally, Deputy Saltanat Amanova raised questions regarding salary increases for employees of state print media and addressing housing issues.
