The Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh approved amendments to the law on physical culture and sports in the first reading

The Committee on Science, Education, Innovative Development and Information Technologies, as well as Culture and Sports of the Jogorku Kenesh discussed and approved the draft law on amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Physical Culture and Sports" in the first reading.

The initiator was the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Urmati Asanbaev, the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, commenting on the draft law, noted that it aims to create conditions for people engaged in adaptive sports, including individuals with hearing impairments. The draft also includes provisions regulating the interaction between republican federations and state bodies, as well as norms regarding the accounting of athletes' work experience. Furthermore, the adoption of rules ensuring the safety of spectators at sporting events will help improve order and safety at all sports events in Kyrgyzstan.

During the discussion, Deputy Rustambek uulu Sovetbek pointed out the need for equal conditions to support sports federations and raised the issue of volleyball development. Deputy Gulsharkan Kultaeva emphasized the inclusion of deaflympic sports in the legislation, as well as the need to add norms regarding senior and personal coaches.

Bolot Sagynaev, another deputy, highlighted the importance of supporting and developing school sports leagues in volleyball and other sports. He also raised the topic of preparation for the World Nomad Games, including the question of the mascot for these games. Deputy Seidbek Atambaev asked questions regarding the mechanism for rewarding athletes and the criteria for sports federations.

Deputy Saltanat Amanova supported the proposed norms of the draft law and clarified the percentage ratio of amendments to the current law. In the context of the World Nomad Games, she raised questions about supporting the salbuurun federation. Chairwoman Toktobubu Ashymbaeva also drew attention to the mechanisms for financing athletes for preparation for international competitions in Olympic, Paralympic, and deaflympic sports.
