The project is being implemented in collaboration with Arizona State University

A University of Innovation and Technology (InnoTech) will be established in Almaty — a new international university created in partnership with Arizona State University, Q Group, and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The urban campus in the business center of Almaty is expected to begin operations in 2026, while the innovation campus, designed in an American style, is planned to open in 2028. The main goal of InnoTech is to prepare qualified specialists for the digital economy, develop innovative approaches, and retain talented youth in the country, reports forbes.kz.

Every year, more than 90,000 students from Kazakhstan go abroad for diplomas recognized on the international stage. InnoTech offers a worthy alternative by providing world-class education right in Kazakhstan.

The official agreement was signed at a meeting of the leaders of Central Asian states and the USA in the C5+1 format, attended by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Sayasat Nurbek, the Minister of Science and Higher Education, believes that the creation of InnoTech is a strategic decision for the education system as a whole. In his opinion, universities of the new format should not only educate but also transform into laboratories for innovation, centers for attracting talent, and platforms for technological entrepreneurship.

It is worth noting that Arizona State University has been recognized as the most innovative university in the USA for over ten consecutive years according to U.S. News & World Report and has more than 181,000 students.
