Control may become possible thanks to the new competition law
In Kyrgyzstan, there are no legal mechanisms to regulate the commission of Yandex.Taxi. This was stated by Aibek Mamyraliev, head of the Antimonopoly Regulation Service, during a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh that deals with issues of finance, budget, entrepreneurship, and competition.
Deputy Dastan Bekeshev asked whether the Ministry of Economy would be able to control the commission rate of this service.
In response, Mamyraliev explained that currently, the ministry does not have the authority to regulate the prices of the platform's services. According to him, such powers may only arise after the adoption of a new law.
The head of the antimonopoly service noted that after the relevant document is adopted, the state will have additional tools to monitor such services.
