Kyrgyzstan ratified the extradition treaty with Mongolia

The new law simplifies the extradition process between the two states

The extradition agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia has been approved by President Sadyr Japarov, who signed the corresponding law. This information was disseminated by the press service of the head of state.

The ratification of the treaty took place on February 19, 2026, during a session of the Jogorku Kenesh. This step is necessary to complete all internal procedures and for the agreement to come into effect.

This document establishes regulations for submitting and reviewing extradition requests, defines the grounds for refusal, and also regulates issues related to temporary detention and transit. The specifics of executing requests are also considered depending on the stage of the criminal case.

It should be noted that the law will come into effect ten days after its official publication.
