Kyrgyzstan stands against all forms of religious hatred — Edil Baisalov

The Deputy Prime Minister addressed those gathered in honor of the International Day to Combat Islamophobia

The event dedicated to the International Day to Combat Islamophobia was held at a high level, featuring Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov. This information was provided by the government press service.

In his speech, he noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is a multinational and multi-confessional state, where Islamic cultural heritage coexists with the principles of pluralism and freedom of religion.

According to Baisalov, since the country's independence, there has been a noticeable increase in religious life, and the state is actively working to direct this process towards improving public consensus.

Edil Baisalov also emphasized that under the leadership of President Sadyr Japarov, a consistent policy is being implemented aimed at developing inter-religious dialogue and respect for cultural and religious diversity.

He added that the fight against Islamophobia must occur alongside countering any forms of religious hatred. Discrimination against both Muslims and representatives of other religions is unacceptable, in his opinion.

The Deputy Prime Minister also raised the issue of the situation in the Middle East, expressing concern over the escalating tensions, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. Kyrgyzstan called on all parties to exercise restraint, cease hostilities, and restore dialogue within the framework of international law.
