In the city of Osh, people who were relocated after the demolition of their homes are reporting demands to pay an additional fee for new apartments. This information was shared by activists from the public organization "Interbilim-Osh."

According to this organization, last year the city hall relocated 66 families from various districts of the city to apartments owned by the municipal mortgage company, located on Krasnoflotskaya Street. This was done as compensation for the demolished homes.

However, residents claim that the cost of the new apartments was set at $950 per square meter, and they were asked to cover the difference between this amount and the price of their previous housing through mortgage payments.

Gulgaky Mamasalieva, the head of "Interbilim-Osh," noted that the valuation of the old housing was underestimated and that no official property appraisal was conducted — all decisions were made verbally.

“Some were provided with two-room apartments, while others received three-room apartments as compensation. Now they are being told that they must pay the difference in square meters as a mortgage for ten years. At the same time, the old houses were valued too low, and people cannot afford to pay such amounts,” Mamasalieva added.

The city hall of Osh reported that the situation is currently being clarified, and there are no official comments on this matter yet.

It is worth noting that with the arrival of Jenishbek Toktorbaev as mayor, active measures have begun in Osh to demolish illegal constructions and expand roads.
