In Osh, local residents who were relocated after the demolition of their homes reported a demand to pay extra for new apartments, as reported by the public organization "Interbilim-Osh."

According to this organization, last year the city hall relocated 66 families from various districts of the city to apartments provided by the municipal mortgage company on Krasnoflotskaya Street as compensation for the demolished housing.

However, as the residents themselves claim, the cost of the new apartments is $950 per square meter, and they are now being asked to cover the difference between this amount and the price of their previous homes through a mortgage.

Gulgaky Mamasalieva, head of "Interbilim-Osh," noted that the valuation of the previous housing was significantly underestimated, as no official appraisal was conducted, and all decisions were made verbally without signing contracts.

"Some were provided with two-room apartments, while others received three-room apartments as compensation. Now they are being told that the difference in square meters needs to be paid off as a mortgage over ten years. Meanwhile, the value of the old houses was assessed too low, and people cannot afford to pay such amounts," emphasized Mamasalieva.

The city hall of Osh reported that the situation is currently being studied, and there is no official comment on the matter yet.

It is worth noting that under the leadership of Jenishbek Toktorbaev, who took office as mayor, active work has begun in the city to demolish illegal constructions and expand roads.
