The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs about the implementation of an online registration system and reminds of the importance of its completion.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has sent a message to its citizens who are in China or planning to travel to this country, with important information regarding the new registration rules.
Since March 20, 2026, a pilot project has been launched in China, allowing foreign citizens not residing in hotels to register online. This new system has been implemented in various regions, including the provinces of Hebei, Liaoning, Zhejiang, Hubei, Sichuan, as well as in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the city of Chongqing. In the future, it is planned to expand it across the entire country.
According to Chinese legislation, if a foreigner is staying in a hotel, the hotel administration is responsible for registration. In the case of residing in private apartments, citizens are required to register themselves or with the help of the host within 24 hours.
Now this procedure is available online through the mobile application of the Chinese immigration service "移民局 12367", as well as through mini-programs in WeChat and Alipay. However, there is still the option to register in person at public security authorities. Online registration is equivalent to the traditional method in terms of legal validity.
