The youth football team of Kyrgyzstan was unable to qualify for the final stage of the Asian Cup (U-17).

The qualifying round of the tournament took place in Bishkek from November 22 to 30 and gathered six teams, each consisting of players under 17 years old. Only the group winner advanced to the final round.

In their first match, the Kyrgyz team suffered a defeat against Yemen with a score of 0:2, and in the second game, they lost to Pakistan (1:3). As a result of these failures, the head coach was dismissed, and the team's chances of reaching the finals were put in jeopardy.

Under the guidance of Anarbek Ormombekov, the national team managed to secure three consecutive victories, winning against Guam (9:0), Laos (3:2), and Cambodia (3:0).

As a result of the qualifying tournament, the Kyrgyz team accumulated 9 points, which matched the results of Pakistan and Laos. However, based on additional criteria, the Kyrgyzstan team finished in 4th place in the group.

The only ticket to the final stage of the Asian Cup was secured by the Yemen team, which won all five of its matches and earned the maximum 15 points.
