The second session of parliament began with heated discussions among the deputies
During the parliamentary session, work is underway to elect deputy chairpersons of the committees, with each deputy group nominating one candidate for the counting commission.
Deputy Elvira Surabaldiyeva suggested abandoning elections and appointing deputies to these positions.
“You were elected speaker yesterday without competition, and the entire faction supported your candidacy. So yesterday we had a dictatorship, and today we are moving to democracy? Let’s not hold elections. If you have already established a dictatorship, go down that path to the end. You may not be aware, but among the deputies, divisions are beginning to form along southern and northern lines, along family ties, and so on,” Surabaldiyeva noted.
She also reminded the speaker that the heads of factions were not elected and expressed the opinion that if deputies are to be given a choice, then elections for the speaker and heads of factions should be held again.
Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu responded to Surabaldiyeva, urging her not to raise the issue of division between the south and north from the podium, reminding her that such statements are subject to criminal liability. He believed that such statements should not be made publicly.
Elvira Surabaldiyeva again addressed the microphone and urged Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu not to threaten and to be cautious in his statements.
