In the 1970s and 1980s, with a trend of steadily increasing ideological and artistic levels of visual agitation, political posters became increasingly widespread. During this period, their role in the development of political and labor activity among the masses, in ideological struggle and the movement for peace, in organizing socialist competition, implementing the party's agrarian policy, spreading patriotic initiatives, strengthening production discipline, and promoting the possibilities and advantages of mature socialist society and the Soviet way of life significantly increased.
The new requirements set by the party for ideological and political-educational work also apply to the art of communist agitation and propaganda, including political posters. The promotion of high communist consciousness, the creative ethos of our country, labor discipline, and dedication to public interests has determined the range of leading themes for Kyrgyz poster artists, who develop the best traditions of Soviet political posters and enrich them with contemporary experience.
Alongside the veterans of Kyrgyz poster art such as V. Zhukov, F. Zubakhin, and A. Turumbekov, the field has also seen bright contributions from M. Bekdzhanov, U. Omurov, M. Sultanaliyev, A. Asyamov, A. Tsyganok, and K. Shkurpela, reflecting in their works the essence of the external and internal policies of the Communist Party and the issues of ideological and moral education of the Soviet person.
