Medical Scientific Associations and Societies. They unite specialists engaged in research, teaching, and practical work in the field of medicine. The main task of these societies and associations is to develop issues of theoretical and practical medicine, provide scientific and methodological assistance to health authorities in implementing the latest achievements of medical science into practice, promote medical achievements among the population, enhance the qualifications of members of scientific societies and associations, deepen their specialized knowledge, and foster their ethical education. Many societies have formed associations in recent years by uniting. In December 2000, the decision of the Scientific Council of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy was made to create the Kyrgyz Medical Association (KMA), which unites the activities of many professional societies and associations without limiting their legal status and statutory areas of activity, allowing them to become an influential socio-political force capable of effectively defending the interests of medical workers and protecting patient rights.
