Maleina Evgeniya Alekseevna

(1903-1984)
Painter. Honored Artist of the RSFSR. Born in 1903 in the city of Tashkent.

In 1930, she graduated from the Higher Artistic and Technical Institute (VKHUTEIN). By tying her fate to the founder of Kyrgyz visual arts S.A. Chuykov, she also connected her creativity with Kyrgyzstan.

Evgeniya Maleina depicted Kyrgyzstan in her genre paintings, landscapes, portraits, and still lifes as a beautiful sunny world, where a kind, hardworking people live close to nature.

She worked extensively in ceramics, feeling this material beautifully and endowing her works in this area with human warmth, plasticity, and pictorial beauty.

Participant in republican, all-Union, and international exhibitions. Her works are housed in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev, the State Tretyakov Gallery, and museums of the CIS.

Since 1932 - member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
