Mambetaitova Shaken


Applied artist. Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz SSR. Born on November 20, 1936, in the village of Tuur-Tam, Ton District, Issyk-Kul Region, Kyrgyz SSR.

In 1970, she graduated from the Frunze Art College. She worked in traditional forms and techniques of folk applied art, creating panels from wool and chiy, felt carpets, and embroidery.

Participant in republican, all-union, and international exhibitions. Her works are held in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev, in museums of the CIS, and in private collections.

Since 1971, she has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
