Watercolor portraits, creating specific and generalized-typical images of contemporaries, alongside the consistently working in this area M. Omorkulov, were created by N. Evdokimov ("Portrait of A. Kamensky," 1969; "Portrait of a Miner," 1970; "Chemist-Technologist Galya Smirnova," 1971; "Embroiderer," 1979), A. Misyurev ("Grandmother with Grandson," 1970), A. Sgibnev ("Builder of the At-Bashinsky Hydroelectric Power Station," 1970), D. Fleckman ("Portrait," 1971), B. Dzhaliyev ("Portrait," 1972), K. Babajanov ("Daniyar," 1980). Much less intensively, watercolor still life is developing, but it is represented by several interesting works by A. Sgibnev ("Talass Still Life," 1965), N. Evdokimov ("Kyrgyz Still Life," 1968; "Still Life," 1968; "Fish," 1972), A. Kamensky ("Bream," 1970), R. Nudel ("Still Life with a Plaster Horse," 1973), S. Shafeev ("Gifts of Autumn," 1978; "Bread," 1980), N. Imanalieva ("Portrait," 1981), in which the mood of sadness, silence, or the bright life-affirming attitude of the artists towards life is expressed through the world of objects.
In the style of Kyrgyz watercolor painting, the principle of sketchiness, determined by the artists' closeness to nature, predominates, along with spatiality of compositional solutions and tonal development of color. At the same time, in the watercolors of some artists (N. Evdokimov, Ya. Solon, T. Kurmanov, etc.), there are trends related to the active search for a different structure of the watercolor image, more openly expressing the artists' attitude towards the depicted. Among the successes in this regard are the sheets "Shepherd's Children" (1981) by T. Kurmanov and "Rest" (1983) by Ya. Solop, where the conditional space with figures of people is full of contrasts of movement, and the object environment is expressively shaped by color. All this contributes to emotional richness.
The current state of Kyrgyz graphics, with all its types, subtypes, and genres, indicates a process of its intensive development, associated with the mastery of new themes and issues, the emergence of new creative personalities of masters of graphic art working in various graphic techniques and stylistic directions.
