Ogobayev Talant Kurmanbekovich
Painter. Born on September 25, 1955, in the city of Frunze. In 1975, he graduated from the Frunze Art School, and then in 1982 from the V.I. Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute, where he studied easel painting under Professor T.T. Salakhov. In 1984 and 1987, he was a scholarship holder of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
Since 1988, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
In 2005, he participated in an internship at a summer graphics camp in Valsee, Austria. In 2006, he was a finalist in the Ses Artslink competition in the USA. In 2006, he also had an internship at the Vermont Studio Center.
“The art of Talant Ogobayev attracts with its diversity of creative impulses. The artist is always different. Lyrical and contemplative easel painting coexists with revelations of conceptual gesture. Admiration for the beauty of the material world organically coexists with abstract detachments from it, in pursuit of more intense expressiveness” (A. Voronina). The artist's works are held in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev, the State Tretyakov Gallery, as well as in museums in neighboring and distant countries. He was awarded the Silver Medal of the VDNH of the USSR.
An active participant in republican and international exhibitions.
