- The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic informs about the launch of a project to develop a digital system designed for the registration of pesticides and agrochemicals, as well as the formation of a unified electronic catalog.

According to the ministry, this system will provide up-to-date information on approved substances and will track their journey from the moment of registration to their arrival at the warehouse. This will create conditions for greater transparency in the process for government agencies, suppliers, and agricultural producers.

“The project is being implemented within the framework of initiatives supported by FAO and GEF aimed at managing the life cycle of pesticides and eliminating hazardous chemicals in Central Asia and Turkey.” The agency noted that the database is already being populated with all pesticides and agrochemicals registered in Kyrgyzstan over the past ten years, which will allow for the creation of a complete and up-to-date registry,” the ministry added.

Furthermore, the ministry emphasized that the new platform will simplify the process for suppliers by automating the processing of applications, improve the transparency of registration, ensure quick access to information, reduce paper documentation, and allow for monitoring the life cycle of agrochemicals.

The agency believes that the implementation of the electronic system will be an important step towards the safe use of chemical plant protection agents, modernization of state control, and improvement of the quality of the agricultural sector in the country.
