Rangers of the Khan-Teniri Nature Park filmed a herd of argali.

In the Khan-Teniri Nature Park, a herd of argali was captured on video during the wildlife census for the year 2025.

According to information provided by the park administration, the argali were spotted in the Adyr-Tör area. The recording was made on November 15.

The argali, also known as the mountain sheep, belongs to the even-toed ungulate mammals of the family Bovidae. This species is listed in the Red Book of the Kyrgyz Republic and in the IUCN Red List (International Union for Conservation of Nature).

Last year, penalties for illegal hunting of certain wild animals, including species protected by the Red Book of Kyrgyzstan, were increased. Previously, the fine for illegal hunting of argali was 1 million soms, now it has been raised to 1.5 million soms. The fine for hunting the ibex has increased from 100,000 to 300,000 soms.

The State Nature Park "Khan-Teniri" is located in the eastern part of the Issyk-Kul region, at the intersection of the Kungoy and Teskey Ala-Too ranges, in the basin of the Sary-Jaz River. This area is home to Peak Pobeda (7439 m) and Khan-Teniri (6995 m).

The park territory is divided into four sections: Adyr-Tor, Sary-Jaz, Enilchek, and Kainy. In addition, the park is divided into functional zones, such as the reserve zone, ecological stabilization zone, tourist-recreational zone, and zone of limited economic activity.
