The mayor of Bishkek disagreed with the opinion that the removal of minibuses from the city did not affect the level of air pollution.

At a press conference, he noted that vehicles contribute to air pollution by 45%. "If it weren't for catalysts and other means, minibuses would significantly worsen the environmental situation. Recently, there has been an increased number of vehicles in Bishkek, which negatively impacts the ecology," the mayor emphasized.

He also reported on several programs aimed at combating air pollution and that state measures have been approved. "Some state enterprises have been designated as responsible, and work in this direction is already underway," he added.
