Commercial banks reported cases of fraud
Between July and September 2025, residents of Kyrgyzstan suffered losses amounting to nearly 11 million soms due to unauthorized transactions with their bank cards, as reported by the country's commercial banks.
The total number of such transactions exceeded 640.
The most vulnerable were Visa cardholders, with 522 incidents leading to a loss of 9.4 million soms.
In second place are MasterCard cards, which recorded 87 transactions during the specified period amounting to 209 thousand soms.
Rounding out the top three are cards from the national payment system "Elcart," which recorded 32 unauthorized transactions with losses of 1.33 million soms.
It is important to note that sharing banking information with others, especially through phone calls, messengers, or the internet, significantly increases the risks of fraud involving such information.
It should be remembered that in Kyrgyzstan, transferring bank cards to third parties may result in criminal liability.
