In 2026, 41 billion soms will be allocated from the budget to agriculture - Torobaev

At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Agricultural Policy, Water Resources, Ecology, and Environmental Protection, the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Industry Bakyt Torobaev announced that in 2026, 41 billion soms will be allocated from the state budget to support and develop agriculture.

According to him, a significant portion of these funds will be directed towards capital investments. In particular, 10 billion soms will go towards irrigation development, and 3 billion will be allocated for providing the population with clean drinking water.

“Within the framework of six financing programs being implemented through ‘Aiyl Bank’ and ‘Eldik Bank,’ 8.3 billion soms are planned. Currently, there are 483 medium and large processing enterprises, 40 logistics centers, 15,000 small businesses, 269 vegetable storage facilities, and 119 slaughterhouses operating in the country. By 2030, the opening of 385 new processing plants is planned, which will increase the processing share from 7% to 25%. In 2026, 75 processing enterprises will be put into operation,” the minister added.
