In 2025, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, made his first official visit to three countries:

April 21–22 — Bahrain

This was the first official visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan to the Kingdom of Bahrain, where issues of political dialogue, as well as cooperation in trade, economic, and investment spheres, and interaction within international organizations were discussed.

June 24–25 — Malaysia

For the first time in the last 30 years, the head of state visited Malaysia. The focus was on expanding trade relations, attracting investments, digitalization, education, and cooperation in the halal industry.

November 4–5 — Egypt

This historic visit took place at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. During the negotiations, issues of strengthening political dialogue, developing economic ties, tourism, and international cooperation were discussed.

International Agreements

As part of its foreign policy activities, Kyrgyzstan prepared and signed 633 international agreements in 2025, including:

This number of agreements indicates Kyrgyzstan's high activity in international politics and its desire to develop cooperation.

Increase in the Number of Diplomatic Missions

Kyrgyzstan continues to actively open new diplomatic institutions.

In 2025, the first embassy of the country on the African continent was opened in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). Thus, the total number of foreign representations (embassies, consulates general, and offices) reached 50.

Since 2023, by the president's directive, a practice has begun of acquiring buildings for embassies and official residences for diplomats abroad, which will significantly reduce substantial budget expenses on rent.

In 2025:

Work is also underway to acquire buildings for embassies in Switzerland and Austria.

For reference: renting premises abroad cost Kyrgyzstan between $2,500 and $4,500 per month, and in Europe — from €5,000 to €6,500. Acquiring buildings will significantly reduce these expenses, and the investments will pay off within a few years.

Key Event of the Year: Meeting of the Heads of Government of the Turkic States in Bishkek

On September 18, 2025, in Bishkek, at the initiative of Kyrgyzstan, the first meeting of the heads of government of the member states of the Turkic States Organization (TSO) took place.

This event was a significant step in the institutional development of the organization and an effective platform for strengthening political dialogue and expanding cooperation among member states.
