- In 2025, the Antimonopoly Service, operating under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, imposed 138 fines totaling 536,000 soms due to unjustified price increases on meat products. This was reported by the Deputy Chairman of the Service, Muratbek Imankulov, on the radio.

As noted by Imankulov, there was a sharp increase in meat prices in July and August 2025. In response, temporary state price regulation was introduced on August 11, 2025, which was initially planned for three months, but its duration was extended until December 31, 2025.

Since the introduction of the regulation, the Service's staff began conducting daily inspections of retail outlets. During these monitoring activities, compliance with the established prices was checked, and explanatory work was carried out with sellers.

Imankulov emphasized: "The imposition of fines cannot completely stop price increases. Therefore, we simultaneously conducted explanatory work and promptly informed law enforcement agencies and local authorities."

In addition, the Deputy Chairman reported that social stores were opened in four districts of Bishkek, where meat is sold at a price below the established limit — 660 soms per kilogram instead of 680 soms.
