At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Minister of Construction Talant Imanakun uulu announced plans for the construction of new schools in Bishkek using resources from the Saudi Development Fund.

According to him, the first phase of this project was successfully completed on December 1, 2024.

As part of this phase, 28 schools and 2 kindergartens were built, totaling 30 facilities. The cost of the first phase was 30 million dollars, with a loan arranged for 25 years at an annual interest rate of 1% from the Saudi Development Fund.

“The second phase includes a new loan agreement with the same fund for 50 million dollars, at 1.5% for 25 years. These funds will be used to build 14 schools in Bishkek. The reason for choosing the capital is the high population density, which is nearly 1.5 million people, and the acute shortage of educational places,” noted the deputy minister.

Imanakun uulu also provided statistics: in the Sverdlovsk district, there are 35 schools with a designed capacity of 29,732 students, but in reality, 66,747 children are studying there. In the First May district, 27 schools designed for 20,962 students are filled with 58,000 children; in the Lenin district, 36 educational institutions that should accommodate 30,402 students actually serve 91,000 children; and in the October district, 22 schools intended for 23,000 students are actually attended by 44,788 children.
