The Deputy Chairman of the National Bank, Azat Kozubekov, stated at a press conference on January 27 that decisions regarding the interest rate and other aspects of monetary policy will be made taking into account the current external economic conditions.

Kozubekov noted that in the event of a worsening situation, the National Bank will decide to raise the interest rate. "We will respond adequately to changes," he added.

He also reminded that there is a previously published schedule of meetings where the interest rate will be discussed. "The scheduled meetings are posted on our official website," the Deputy Chairman of the National Bank clarified.

Kozubekov emphasized that both internal and external factors are taken into account when forming decisions on monetary policy. "All these aspects influence our decisions on the interest rate," he said.

Speaking about the future, the Deputy Chairman of the National Bank expressed concern about the high degree of uncertainty in the global economy. "Making forecasts in such conditions is very difficult, as the external economic situation remains unpredictable. However, we will respond to changes — this is our priority," Kozubekov noted.
