According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications, on February 17, 2026, at approximately 12:10, avalanches occurred in two sections of the Chychkan gorge on the Bishkek-Osh highway. As a result, restrictions have been implemented for all vehicles at the checkpoints "Sosnovka" and "Aral".
Preliminary data indicates that the length of the snow avalanches is approximately 100 meters, and their height reaches 5 meters. Currently, Road Maintenance Enterprise No. 23 is actively working on clearing the road using specialized equipment.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic reports that work to eliminate the consequences is ongoing and strongly urges drivers to exercise caution and to understand the temporary restrictions. Additional information will be provided later.
