From February 27 to 28 and on March 1, the long-awaited premiere of the solo performance "Medea" will take place at the A. Umuraliev Bishkek Drama Theater. According to the theater's press service, this work, based on a play by Nina Mazur, represents a confession of a woman who experiences extreme emotions due to love, betrayal, and loneliness.
In the performance by the outstanding actress, Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Dinara Abdykadyrova, the ancient story takes on a modern sound, illuminating the suffering, vulnerability, and destructive power of passion. Medea, as portrayed by her, is a character who loved wholeheartedly and ultimately lost everything.
Audiences will witness the transformation of the heroine's feelings—from tenderness to rage, from faith to disappointment, and finally, from hope to the abyss. This story is not limited to mere revenge; it is a deep portrait of a soul that has ceased to be submissive and convenient,” the theater noted.
The direction of the performance is by Alexander Panin, and the scenography was developed by Zuhra Mukambetova.
