On February 20 of this year, an important ceremony took place in the Issyk-Kul region, where the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev, laid a capsule for the construction of a special financial and investment territory (SFIT) called "Tamchy."
According to the government press service, Kasymaliev noted in his speech that the implementation of this project will be a strategic step for the economic future of the country. The zone being created aims to transform into an international financial center, attracting global capital, fintech and IT innovations, as well as serving as a relevant logistics hub for international trade and freight transportation.
He also emphasized that the project is based on the best international practices of leading financial centers, adapted to the capabilities of the Issyk-Kul region. One of the main priorities of the zone will be to create a stable and competitive environment for investors.
The key aspects of the SFIT "Tamchy" project include:
- By 2035, phased construction of modern office buildings, residential complexes, and tourist facilities with a total area of over 470 thousand square meters is planned. The territory will be divided into business, logistics (adjacent to the airport), and recreational zones.
- An independent international dispute resolution center will be established to protect business interests, operating under the principles of English law.
- Residents of the new zone will be exempt from taxes for up to 49 years, will have free movement of capital, a flexible currency regime, and the ability to conduct business with 100% foreign participation.
- Extensive infrastructure will be developed over an area of more than 100 hectares, with a projected annual flow of up to 90 thousand tourists by 2035.
"The Kyrgyz Republic is open to investors. We offer clear rules, quality support, and long-term stability. Your success means new jobs, technologies, and growth for us. In 2025, GDP growth was 11.1%, and the average annual real growth over the past four years reached 10.2%. The "Tamchy" project will give new impetus to this development. Dear investors, unity is the foundation of our prosperity. Let’s achieve success together. Welcome to "Tamchy"!" concluded the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.
