At the international tournament MUHAMET MALO–2026 in wrestling, held on February 27 in Tirana (Albania), Kyrgyz wrestler Meerim Zhumanazarova won a silver medal.
Meerim competed in the 68 kg category and began her competition in the 1/8 finals. In her first matches, she achieved confident victories over American athletes: first, she defeated Destin Rene with a score of 11:0, and then Solin Nicole Peirce with a result of 10:0, which allowed her to advance to the semifinals.
In the semifinal match, Zhumanazarova faced Nersin Bas from Turkey and won with a final score of 8:4, securing her place in the final.
However, in the decisive match against Bulgarian athlete Yulianna Yaneva, Meerim was unable to secure a victory and finished the tournament in second place, losing with a score of 0:2.
