On December 15, the Louvre suspended its operations due to a strike initiated by its employees. This information was published on the museum's official website.
The statement reads: "Due to the employees' strike, the museum is temporarily closed. We apologize for the inconvenience caused."
According to Le Monde, at a meeting held on the same day, about 400 employees unanimously supported the decision to strike. The reason for the discontent was the deteriorating working conditions.
Additionally, Bloomberg reports that among the reasons for the strike, issues in the security system were also mentioned, identified after a recent robbery of the museum.
